Since their inception, Nottingham Forest have used a single name for the football club. The Nottinghamshire outfit also adopted their nickname, the Reds, from their formation as their founding members opted to embrace Garibaldi red as the team’s official colours.

Other nicknames have also followed throughout Nottingham Forest’s history as a club. Fans and rivals often use Forest as a simple abbreviation of their full name.

Meanwhile, the Tricky Trees came from the club playing their initial matches near Sherwood Forest and from their badge.
